Radio and Television for Everyone

HRT TV, which began broadcasting in 1993, continues its journey as a world channel under the motto "Radio and Television for Everyone."

One of Turkey's first private channels and the country's first local channel, HRT TV broadcast locally until 2010, and as of 30 April 2010 has continued its broadcasting activities internationally via satellite.

Broadcasting via the TÜRKSAT 4A satellite since 30 April 2010, HRT — which began as a terrestrial broadcaster — now reaches first the Mediterranean region and, through satellite, Turkey and the world.

On the path we set out on for impartial journalism, independent broadcasting policies, and the public's immediate access to real news, the distance we have covered since 1993 — reinforced by the awards we have received — shows that the quality of our work is recognised with appreciation across Turkey.

With programmes spanning a wide range from arts to sport, politics to culture, and economy to the environment, alongside domestic and foreign series, films, music programmes and agenda-setting live broadcasts, HRT makes a significant contribution both to the branding of regional cities and to the promotion of regional companies in national and international markets.

HRT is the first television channel in the Çukurova Region to broadcast on a national and international scale. Through its original productions, regional and cultural content, and programming aimed at the Middle East, it reaches a broad audience.

In 2018, the Best Satellite Channel of the Year award given by the Anatolian Broadcasters Association — one of Turkey's most prestigious media awards — reflected the distance HRT had covered in its broadcasting career. Following the 6 February earthquakes, which affected millions of people across a vast area of Turkey in 2023, HRT continued broadcasting from the field, maintaining its coverage under difficult conditions for the public good. For this, the Anatolian Broadcasters Federation honoured HRT with its 2024 Media Awards Solidarity Award, citing that, "having lived through the 6 February Earthquake most severely in its continuously growing broadcasting history since its founding, [HRT] kept reporting events in the region to the public in solidarity, without interrupting its broadcasts despite every difficulty."
